Plenty of words have been written about Gallic genius Joakim on these here pages. Slightly less have been written about Zombie Zombie. Here are more about both in the shape of sentence about the forthcoming Versatile Records compilation.
Snappily titled Versatile 2008, it drops on the 10th November and features the cream of the Versatile roster including the aforementioned Joakim and Zombie Zombie alongside Chateau Flight, I:Cube, Poni Hoax and Fabrice Lig and like all good musical things it covers all the genres that end with O – disco, italo, techno, acid houseo, kraut rocko.
Such a compilation can be viewed as a keen reminder that not all good French music is either lysergic noise a la Ed Bangers or husky females with acoustic guitar.
By way of promotion, the lovely people who get paid by Versatile managed to coax their boss Gilb’r (aka Chateau Flight) into composing a new mixtape for your ears AND they even said we can post a track from the compilation. How nice is that?
