Way Too Long

August 22, 2007

Apologies for the complete paucity of posts recently – I just noticed that only three nuggets of sillyness have surfaced on Slutty Fringe throughout August so far, which is just terrible. I thought it would be the decent thing to redress the balance somewhat with some fresh new buffhype tracks.

Italian producers 3 Is A Crowd sent me through a re edit of Crookers track Nchlinez a few weeks back which I loved and posted but completely neglected to add any information about. Thankfully they have just sent through some new productions so I can give them the word love they deserve!

They teased me with a remix of the Sinden & Count Of Monte Cristal smash Tambourzuda recently, which switches down the tempo by lacing it over the big beat break giving it a grimey hiphop lick. Finally they sent through a finished version with some added bass squiggles – tuff!

Sinden & Count Of Monte Cristal – Tambourzuda (3isacrowd final mix)

Not only that they sent through the following which exhibit the same sort of bass fuckupery that I love the Crookers for!

Mino & 3isacrowd – Mino’s Crunk (ghetto remix)

Crookers fans should keep their eyes out for forthcoming remixes of Chemical Brothers, Brodinski & Rodion. I’m lucky enough to have heard the first two and they are hothothothothot!

Ridiculously young producers Night Facilities tapped me up with his latest production which takes a snippet of Olivia Newton John and laying several ounces of nasty electrohouse sounds akin to Boys Noize or Digitalism.

Not entirely sure it’s healthy to be so prolific with conjuring up noisey electro at the tender age of 16 (All my energies were focused on art student girls in hotpants at 16) but when the output is as splendidly dirty and bouncey as this it doesn’t really matter

Night Facilities – Physical

The lovely people at Gomma sent through two mixes by label artist Baldelli which they claim to be ripped from cassette recorded back in the early 80s. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of this, but both mixes are excellent – full of italo, disco, funk rock oddities. No tracklist for these I’m afraid

Baldelli – mixtape C41 1981 A#01-eq

Baldelli – mixtape C20 1980 B#01-eq

Finally La Greve Generale hooked me up with a live recording of their recent set at the Modular Weekly which is full of the tracks that kids in Ed Banger tshirts lap up!
