International Ghosty

October 27, 2007

It’s that time of the year where youths won’t get served Asbos if they deem it neccessary punishment to set fire to your car while dressed as Wolverine if you don’t relent to their sugar filled desire for rotten teeth. Yeah it’s Halloween and there are a few ghoulish mixes floating around.

Geek hop label Definitive Jux have just put out a Spooky party mix that includes some of the labels more gothic toned tracks (they all a bit dark tho innit?) mixed by Juggaknot’s DJ Boo

Enough Halloween related japes, White Girl Lust sent me the promo mix for their new EP West Coast Bump (available now on Beatport) days ago and dem Swedes Discobelle were fresh out of the box posting about it. I’ve no had the chance till now to feature it or anything else for that matter (apart from a sneaky Hannah Holla post in my lunch break) but this mix been playlisted on the Slutty Fringe iPod for repeat listen all week. Definitely one to bump before you head out for the night as this mix is smile inducingly excellent – especially the blaqstarr/missy bit

WGL also sent through Go & Get It, a track from the EP featuring the vocal talents of Spoek from the excellent Sweat X and some remixes they’ve done. Nice handclaps on the Prairie Cartel refix!

White Girl Lust – Go & Get It

Prairie Cartel – Burning Down (White Girl Lust Remix)

Astra Moveo – DollFace (White Girl Lust Remix)

Finally the tracklisting for the Justeeece Fabriclive mix has just been released and I’m pleasantly suprised that it doesn’t read like the last 9 months of club music condensed into 65 minutes, which is a definite criticism of the Light Sound Dance Black Disc. The James Murphy and Pat Mahoney mix was top notch and I look forward to hearing this (next week hopefully!)

One Response to “International Ghosty”

  1. OK, any mix that includes this most awesome of aweomenesses deserves top fucking respect! First Daft Punk put it in their movie, now Justice get Fabric to pay Todd some royalties! AWESOME!!!!

In fact that entire record (“A Wizard, A True Star”) is just fucking brilliant from beginning to end. Go get it somewhere!
